From the Study Guide Series, Romans Volume 2: Elected and Sanctified simply picks up where Volume 1 left off, working through the final eight chapters of Paul’s letter to Rome with the same verse-by-verse precision, original language depth, and classroom-ready clarity that defined Volume One. But the territory here is different. Chapters nine through sixteen are where Paul’s theology becomes biography, his doctrine becomes duty, and the gospel he has spent eight chapters constructing finally meets the question every serious student eventually has to answer: now what?

He traces God’s unfinished purposes for Israel through three chapters of argument that culminate in doxology, because the wisdom behind the plan is too vast for anything but worship. He turns the corner at chapter twelve with a single word — therefore — and spends five chapters showing what a life looks like when it has been claimed by the mercy of God: the living sacrifice, the transformed mind, the enemy fed rather than cursed, the brother received across differences that would otherwise divide. And he closes the letter personally — his plans, his companions, his warnings, his doxology — giving the reader a final, unguarded look at the man behind the argument.

Romans Volume 2: Elected and Sanctified works every passage the same way Volume One did: original language notes where the text rewards them, historical and theological context where it opens the argument, and a clear, usable presentation of what Paul actually said and why it matters. The work has already been done.
